"Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) is a national organization with twenty-four self-governing member societies that work with and for women and girls in the justice system. CAEFS works to ensure substantive equality in the delivery and development of services and programs through public education, research, legislative and administrative reform. The organization’s two primary long-term objectives are: to reduce the likelihood of women and girls being criminalized, and to reduce the number of women in prison. CAEF’s target population is women and girls who may be marginal",
"The Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies has applied for funding under the Grants Program to National Voluntary Organizations (GP to NVOs) which supports not-for-profit or national voluntary organizations that are active in the area of corrections, conditional release and/or community reintegration. The funding is meant to help these organizations maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses. In the context of this program, the purpose of the grants is to contribute to the development of criminal justice policies and delivery of services.",
"The Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) will implement a research project to learn from local member Elizabeth Fry Societies that operate Community Residential Facilities (CRFs), as well as from housing and transitional supports that operate outside of the CRF model. The research will focus on the experience of service-providers within the CAEFS network and of the women and gender diverse people who were mandated to CRFs during COVID-19 and will test promising practices used by local Societies and others to serve and support their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.",
"This knowledge-sharing project is Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies’ (CAEFS) first incremental step towards expanding its regional advocacy to the northern territories. This project will bring together cross-sectoral justice workers for two-days of knowledge-sharing in Whitehorse, Yukon, to co-develop strategies on community-identified barriers to community reintegration post-incarceration and recidivism reduction. Invitees will include representatives from all 14 First Nation governments, Indigenous organizations, non-profit organizations, territorial government justice workers,"
