"This project aims to strengthen the climate resilience of Jamaica’s health system by retrofitting two health facilities severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa in October 2025. These upgrades will transform the facilities into “Smart Hospitals” that meet internationally recognized standards for disaster resilience and environmental sustainability. Project activities include: (1) reinforcing structural elements to withstand hurricanes and other hazards; (2) integrating renewable energy solutions such as solar power and battery storage; (3) improving water conservation and waste management systems",

Since then, the disease has spread considerably to other regions of the country. As of February 10, there have been more than 30,000 suspected cholera cases. Furthermore, this cholera resurgence is happening in a complex operational context, with rampant insecurity, access constraints, and insufficient infrastructures to meet humanitarian needs. With GAC’s support, the Pan American Health Organization helps to meet the immediate health needs of crisis-a",
"This 9 month project supports the comprehensive recovery of the population affected by the wildfires in Valparaiso, Chile. Project activities include: (1) improving a comprehensive psychosocial support program for personnel involved in the fire response; (2) strengthening the capacity of local health workers to deliver a coordinated response of mental health and psychosocial support interventions with an intercultural approach; (3) improving the capacity of national authorities to implement differentiated mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies (MHPSS) interventions for outreach,"
