"Priority is to bring the current cache items to standard that is reliable and consistent with the cache other teams nationwide are using. This will be done in conjunction with developing cache items that are currently not available or because of normal lifecycle issues have become obsolete or are approaching a point of operational failure.",
"The Shubenacadie Lakes System, which contains over 70 tributary lakes/ponds and having a surface area of approximately 388 square kilometres. The Historic Shubenacadie Canal System links the Halifax Harbour with the Shubenacadie River, and contains 9 locks, only one of which is operational. Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is moving forward under Stream 2 of NDMP to enhance flooding mitigation for Nova Scotia's largest municipality. Proposed project is to include rainfall return periods and the impacts of such rainfall on adjacent infrastructure. The project will develop floodplain limits b",
"HRM recently finalized the flood risk assessment study under NDMP Stream 1. The study assessed flood risk in flood prone areas across HRM selected from over 900 such sites. The study highlighted that significant parts of development within the Municipality were built within large natural watershed systems, and more specifically built within the floodplains of those watersheds. The Sackville Rivers system was identified as the highest priority area for flooding mitigation under the Stream 1 NDMP. Having completed the analysis under both Stream 1 and Stream 2 of NDMP, HRM is in a position to mov",
"The proponent is near completion of risk assessments of approximately fifteen dams in Nova Scotia. The intention is to conduct risk assessments of a additional 7 dams and orphan dams. Determine communities at higher risk of flooding due to being downstream of high risk dam or WCS, as failure of these structures would have significant impact to public safety, public and private infrastructure, farmland, essential services, and municipal water supplies, as well as water quality, wildlife and fish habitat.",
"The Municipality of the District of Guysborough (MODG) has a vast coast line with many communities dotting the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Climate Change has began to alter lives of Nova Scotia residents. This project for mitigation planning will allow the MODG to make forward looking decisions for placing of infrastructure, economic development, housing, planning and development, emergency management, etc. The goal is to ensure planning and sound decision making to prevent as many losses as possible including life, property, and monetary. To take what the MODG learned from the Risk Asse",
"To produce a flooding study for Municipality of Lunenburg in order to; better inform emergency management planning and priority setting, the development of risk action plans, and information and communication materials to ensure vulnerable communities are aware of localized hazards and the associated risks that may affect them."
