"This 30-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. The YWCA Halifax will achieve this by scaling-up a past Gender Inclusive Leadership course and by piloting new initiatives that promote the participation of diverse and underrepresented women in skilled trades in Nova Scotia. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, supporting positive distribution of voice",
"Through this 22-month project, YWCA Halifax will conduct community-based research that will investigate sexual and gender-base violence (SGBV) in the skilled trades in Nova Scotia. It will identify the prevalence and experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, address barriers to the accessibility and adequacy of workplace responses and supports, and provide recommendations to industry to prevent SGBV in the workplace and support survivors. To do so, the project will entail a targeted research phase which will include a literature review, relationship building work with key partners, engagement wit",
"This 38-month project with the YWCA Halifax will develop and implement the Coordinated Access to Support Exit (CASE) model, a promising intervention practice to advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for at-risk populations and survivors of human trafficking in Nova Scotia. This will be achieved by building wrap-around case conferencing tables, by providing survivors with culturally-relevant, trauma-informed and responsive supports, by increasing access to safe housing, and by evaluating the efficacy of coordinated access as a meaningful community-based tool to combat human traffic",
"Communities that have been identified as having a significant problem with homelessness are able to access multi-year funding under this component that must be matched from other sources in the same way as the former National Homelessness Initiative's Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative.",
"FHPP component works with other federal departments to work collaboratively to address issues which may have impacts on homelessness such as corrections, mental health, family violence and immigration.",
"This 38-month project will increase women’s economic security by addressing systemic barriers to women’s inclusion in well-paid non-traditional sectors (trades and utilities). Main activities include working with NS Power to review and modify hiring practices, designing and delivering training for managers, developing internal mentorship programs, and conducting a comprehensive review of remuneration and HR practices. Project results will be shared with other sectors in which women are under-represented. The additional funding will allow the undertaking of a second round of Gender Inclusive L",
