Using generativity as a context to understand what drives youth to join violent extremists$207Kvalue2020start2022end

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to examine the role of generativity, the desire to leave a legacy that lasts beyond the self, in motivating youth aged 18 to 24 in Quebec and Ontario to engage in social justice causes through violent and non-violent means. Generative motivations are often dismissed or overlooked in this developmental period, despite evidence that young people are motivated to serve future generations.
