The Canadian Criminal Justice Association (CCJA) is a national organization comprised of more than 400 members across Canada. The CCJA represents all elements of the criminal justice system, including the public. The organization promotes rational, informed and responsible debate in order to develop a more humane, equitable and effective criminal justice system in Canada. Through its many initiatives, the CCJA provides information and education on justice issues. CCJA’s target population is the public, criminal justice participants and concerned observers.
The Canadian Criminal Justice Association has applied for funding under the Grants Program to National Voluntary Organizations (GP to NVOs) which supports not-for-profit or national voluntary organizations that are active in the area of corrections, conditional release and/or community reintegration. The funding is meant to help these organizations maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses. In the context of this program, the purpose of the grants is to contribute to the development of criminal justice policies and delivery of services.
Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth, particularly those who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills.
