Enhance defence-grade unmanned aerial systems for border surveillance in Canada
“As part of the international consortium project “CIIP - UK Multisector - SALUS - Sustainable Autonomous Long-Endurance Uncrewed Systems”, this project will advance safe and scalable beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations for uncrewed aerial systems. Canadian UAVs will focus on integrating its Sparrowhawk radar-based detect-and-avoid system into long-endurance UAV platforms, conducting field trials, and validating performance against regulatory standards. The goal is to enable sustainable offshore monitoring, industrial inspections, and regional connectivity applications. The project w

Tasker is a new web-based system designed to reduce the complexities associated with UAV use in the aerospace industry. Tasker integrates companywide systems to deliver a one-stop solution for planning, quoting, resourcing, tracking, maintaining, reporting and data analytics to enable more complex UAV operations in Canadian Airspace.
Tasker is a web-based safety management system designed to reduce the complexities associated with UAV use in the aerospace industry. Tasker is currently available as a commercial product but is in the early stages of growth and trying to scale through greater user adoption. These concerns will be addressed in two parts, first with the release of a mobile app and second increasing automation through integration with common UAV Ground Control Systems (GCS). The proposed project would take an existing prototype mobile application and develop it for commercial release. Additionally, the proje
This project aims to advance the Sparrowhawk Radar system by enhancing its security features and streamlining its deployment process, making it suitable for dual-use applications in both commercial and defence sectors. The Sparrowhawk Radar is currently commercially available and can be deployed as a single installation or part of a network of installations to reduce blind spots and increase confidence in airspace monitoring. As interest from Canadian defence customers grows, establishing a secure and efficient network of Sparrowhawk systems has become paramount.
Canadian UAVs is creating a ground-based radar solution to provide an airspace collision avoidance mechanisms for UAVs. This will allow operations beyond line of sight, which drastically reduce cost per meter inspected for a many enterprise clients.

In 2022, Canadian UAVs received the first Canada-wide BVLOS permit for UAV flight. Flying UAVs at such a large scale has uncovered the challenge of handling a rapidly increasing volume of data generated from these operations. This data must be collected from UAV operators, processed to provide actionable intelligence, and delivered to customers promptly. However, the current methods for managing this data are manual and slow, requiring constant intervention and leading to delays in the process. The Firm's solution is to extend the functionality of existing proprietary software to automate par
