The Apprenticeship Service’s objective is to encourage and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to hire first-year apprentices, particularly key groups, in construction and manufacturing Red Seal trades across Canada. This will help improve apprenticeship outcomes, improve the participation and success of key groups, and enhance employer engagement of apprentices.
The Innovation in Apprenticeship Stream aims to support innovative approaches and strengthen partnerships to address apprenticeship challenges in the Red Seal trades. The stream supports projects that: • use innovative approaches or expand best practices to address challenges limiting apprenticeship outcomes in Red Seal trades • involve broad-based partnerships between organizations across sectors, regions or trades
