The project consists of reducing the risks associated with landslides and river erosion to a minimum level by stabilizing and protecting the south bank of the Mille-Îles River, over more than 7 km. It also aims to enhance this shore and redevelop 9.5 km of Boulevard des Mille-Îles to add safe bicycle and pedestrian paths. In addition, the project will improve the drainage of surface water from the boulevard, which is essential for stabilizing the bank embankment.
The project will add bicycle lanes separated from vehicular traffic (marked lane with bollards, spot curbs and bus bays, or raised lanes with or without vegetated strips). This project is consistent with the Bicycle Network Master Plan (BNMP). The project covered by this grant application involves continuation of the deployment of the bicycle network in 2024 and 2025 under projects initiated by the BNMP. The funds targeted by the grant application correspond to those included or to be included in our three-year capital plan for BNMP work.
