This project includes the acquisition of an electric forklift for safe indoor use and alignment with the City's Green Initiative, six (6) Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs) to enhance mobility and equipment transport during operations, and ongoing certification training for Canada Task Force 3 (CAN-TF3) personnel to meet provincial technical rescue standards. The goal of this project is for all members to complete a 48-hour structural collapse course (Rescue 1) and eventually a 48-hour structural collapse course (Rescue 2) to comply with the mandate. The structural collapse training will allow members to successfully complete the Structural Collapse Rescue1/2 certification in accordance with NFPA 1006-2013 Technical Rescue Professional Qualifications Proboard/IFSAC.

Commercial Cargo/Refrigeration Truck and Taskforce Scheduled Certification/Maintenance Training$516Kvalue2024start2025end

This project's goal is to replace a cube van ensuring rapid team deployment, and to provide mandatory training and certification to its members in Canada Task Force 3 (CANTF-3). Acquiring a new, larger vehicle will allow movement and storage of larger loads of equipment and provide a means of refrigeration capabilities for the team and the affected community. This refrigeration vehicle could be used as a temporary morgue under extreme conditions. The project will deliver communications, search, medical, logistics and planning training to the structural collapse team members.

CAN TF3-HUSAR Equipment Replacement/Purchase$97.5Kvalue2019start2020end

The overarching objective of the project is to replace existing equipment that has reached its out-of-service life as recommended by the manufacturer and to acquire additional equipment to further complement the CAN-TF3 cache. As the equipment will be purchased using City of Toronto standing offer procurement, there are no expected delays with regards to purchasing.
