Commercialize ocean sensor technology
Commercialize ocean sensor and sampler technologies
This project will build an early-stage research eDNA sensor that automates the qPCR process. The eDNA sensor will be designed to be fully submersible with onboard batteries, reagents, pumps and analysis module that will perform sample collection, DNA extraction and identification.
This project will see the development of a microfluidic Lab-On-a-Chip (LOC) Ortho Phosphate sensor and integration with a variety of deployment platforms and laboratory/factory use. The sensor will find wide use in the aquaculture, drinking and waste water monitoring and other markets.
The aim of this project is to design and develop a deep eDNA sampler that is operationally rated to depths of 3000 meters or more. A deep eDNA sampler will permit the collection of DNA samples at sites including: wind-farm installations, marine-protected areas, oil and gas infrastructure, and ocean observatories for ecological monitoring and for climate change impact assessments along Canadian coasts and maritime regions.
Hire an operations manager.
Engage expertise to digitize and improve productivity of business development processes
Dartmouth Ocean Technologies needs to hire an additional production/assembler to keep up with both commercial production as well as R&D efforts in parallel.
Dartmouth Ocean Technologies has an urgent need to grow the mechanical engineering team in order to keep up with the rapid growth of the company. We need to expand our mechanical engineering team ASAP in order to work on standard commercial product engineering, as well as R&D on the new contract.
