Provision of legal aid information and advice on matters related to workplace sexual harassment in the workplace in the province of Ontario.
Northumberland Community Legal Centre proposes to hire 3 full-time equivalents (lawyers and/or licensed paralegals) that will deliver legal advice to 3 different regions (central and eastern, southwestern, and northern) in Ontario. All the participating clinics will provide ancillary holistic legal services as required by the client. The staff will also provide legal resource materials and training to increase access to legal information.
The project will increase awareness and knowledge of the rights and responsibilities of vulnerable workers, and the legal remedies available to them in relation to sexual harassment in the workplace by creating and delivering public legal education and information resources.
