This 29-month project will help end gender-based violence (GBV) among women and gender-diverse people who sell/trade sex, use drugs, or are living with HIV across Canada. This will be achieved by equipping the communities most directly affected with legal knowledge to respond to discriminatory laws and policies; supporting their meaningful participation in law and policy reform discussions; consulting them to advance inclusive policies and practice; strengthening existing networks and fostering new collaborations.
The HIV Legal Network will create and provide public legal education and information materials and workshops to benefit Indigenous and Black people who are living with HIV/AIDS, and/or who use drugs.
