Development of an organic semiconductor technology enabling the manufacture of printed organic solar cells.
Development of photovoltaic active layer designs the perform under artificial lighting (i.e. indoor OPV).
Development of a high efficiency active layer for flexible photovoltaic cells.
Part of the international consortium project 1792 IMPACT, the two innovative companies Brilliant Matters (Canada) and project lead Epishine AB (Sweden) will, in close collaboration, develop and evaluate a novel organic semiconducting material suitable for use as an interlayer in indoor organic photovoltaic (OPV).
Develop and evaluate novel organic semiconducting materials suitable for use as color-changing materials for electro-chromic devices.
The project aims to test organic flexible solar panels integrating advanced technology into a demonstration site in Japan. This demonstration aims to test the panels in a real use case of building integration in Japan.
Acquisition of equipment: the project aims at the acquisition of specialized equipment by a company that specializes in the manufacturing and marketing of electronic product components.
The purpose of this CanExport Innovation agreement is to support Canadian organizations to carry out activities related to pursuing opportunities that would lead to establishing new collaborative Research and Development (R&D) partnerships between the Recipient and foreign organizations in order to support R&D on the Recipient’s technology and advance its commercialization.

Business Start-up: The project aims to support the start-up of a technology company that produces organic semiconductors used in the manufacture of flexible electronic products.
The project is to assess various critical parameters affecting the costs of organic semiconductor production in order to produce these materials to be more price competitive. New methodologies for synthesis and scaling will be tested. These methodologies are intended to reduce the number of steps, waste products and to maximize returns reactions.
International Co-Innovation Action Program (ICAP) project will prepare the firm to enter into future international co-innovation work. Brilliant Matters is looking for partners who manufacture OPV ( Organic Photovoltaics) using solution-processed, roll-to-roll methods.
Hiring a Scientific Resource.
The project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the firm.
The project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the firm.
Development and production of polymer semiconductors for the manufacturing of flexible solar cells used for the production of renewable energy.
Participation in the Canadian smart materials co-innovation mission to Japan – January 27 to 31, 2025. Delegation led by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) to explore the Japanese market and to develop international partnerships and potential project ideas under the Japan Program. In Partnership with the Trade Commissioner Service Canadian Technology Accelerator (TCS CTA), and Deep Tech Canada, the Canadian delegation will also receive coaching and mentoring by industry leaders, support for their international business and market-entry str
