Mage Networks uses multi-hop mesh wireless networks to provide broadband Internet access to unserved and underserved areas. In order for these multi-hop networks to achieve the desired performance, strict line-of-sight and link-quality requirements need to be fulfilled. This project aims at developing a software that designs these multi-hop mesh networks, guaranteeing the performance requirements. The key concept behind this software is to utilize the land-cover information provided by the Geographical Information System (GIS) data so as to improve the accuracy of wireless link quality assessm
Mage Networks uses multi-hop mesh wireless networks to provide Internet access to unserved/underserved areas. To achieve the desired performance, numerous requirements must be fulfilled regarding link quality under diverse weather conditions. Mage developed MagiPlan™, a network design tool, in IRAP funded projects. This project aims to improve MagiPlan™ to include the ability to include the effects of weather and seasonal vegetation changes into the design process. Data driven model is to be built based on performance logs of running networks to model the seasonal and weather effects. This mod
Mage Networks uses data pipelines, a special type of multi-hop mesh networks, to provide high data rate Internet access to rural areas. These data pipelines require specific design considerations to guarantee a minimum supported data rate. This project aims at developing a software that designs these data pipelines. It selects the sites, the type of MagiNodes used at that site, the transmit power setting, and the direction of the antennas guaranteeing a minimum data rate with a minimum number of units.
