Design and Development of a Profiling Float Platform for Oceanography and Maritime Defence.
To design and develop a scalable industrial IoT embedded platform that will be used within all MetOcean IoT products, and will be distributed as a standalone product globally.
The funding provided by the IAP program is intended to assist innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in the start-up phase that cannot access existing commercial support related to COVID-19.
This project encompasses the development of a tracking device using more than one means of RF communication. Users of these trackers find the cost of satellite telemetry excessive and as such require a device that will intelligently determine the best telemetry path, either satellite or cell phone. The product produced in this project will accomplish that goal.
Final design and testing of a profiling float platform to be used for both Oceanography and Defence purposes.
MetOcean will engage with customers such as naval organizations and researchers in Canada and around the world to identify long-term customer requirements for autonomous acoustic subsea devices.
