This multi-year project will support the development of an Indigenous Peoples’ Court (IPC) in Peterborough. The IPC will address the need for Indigenous persons to have the impacts of colonization taken into account when they are before the court, and for Indigenous cultural practices, as suggested by Gladue prinicples, to be considered when such individuals are involved in the justice system.
This project will support service users working on healing plans that are developed through their needs and their interests.
