This Canada-UK collaborative project aims to establish large-scale, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)-compliant manufacturing of bacteriophages to combat antimicrobial-resistant infections. Using an innovative bioreactor, the team will scale up production for several phage candidates targeting WHO-priority pathogens. The project integrates innovative technologies for phage characterization and rapid diagnostic testing.
The aim of this project is to develop and implement scale up methodologies to enable production of GMP grade bacteriophages at large scale to enable human clinical trials.
Acquisition of equipment and marketing strategy: The project aims to increase the production capacity and to support the implementation of a marketing strategy of a company specialized in the biomedical sector.
This project is centered on the analytical biochemistry processes crucial for the development and optimization of bacteriophage-based products. The project aims to refine the analytical methods used to assess the quality, purity, and potency of bacteriophage preparations throughout the production process.
The employee will study the mechanisms of phage infection, replication, and lysis in bacterial hosts and evaluate the stability and efficacy of phage formulations under various conditions.
This project focuses on phage selection, characterization, and GMP-compliant production processes to address antimicrobial resistance. The microbiologist will gain expertise in analytical techniques including qPCR, endotoxin testing, and fermentation optimization, and will contribute to advancement of innovative bacteriophage therapies for critical pathogens.
Support the development of high-quality bacteriophage-based therapeutics targeting antimicrobial-resistant pathogens. The project focuses on implementing and maintaining GMP-compliant quality systems, including documentation, process validation, and regulatory compliance.
