Cornwall Sediment Strategy Long Term Monitoring Program: Assessment of mercury concentrations in nearshore sediment and fish in 2022
The overall objective is to provide resource limited craft breweries access to important data regarding the efficiency of the production process. To achieve this goal, this project will fill three knowledge gaps within the craft brewery industry: 1. Point Contribution Mapping of wastewater across various sized craft breweries; 2. Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC) services and 3. Assessment of Impact The three aforementioned objectives will all contribute to the overarching goal of developing templated materials as a means to facilitate national knowledge transfer to assist the craft brew
Cornwall Sediment Strategy Long Term Monitoring Program - Establishing Baseline Concentrations for Nearshore Surface Sediments
This contribution will support an assessment of changes in wetlands in and near Thousand Islands National Park since the 1980s. The loss of wetlands is an important threat to species at risk such as Blanding’s Turtle and Least Bittern.
Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth, particularly those who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills.

The project will carry out sampling and analysis to establish baseline concentrations of surface sediments in shallow, nearshore areas for the Cornwall Sediment Strategy (CSS). In addition, the hydrological environment will be characterized by carrying out a spatially intensive survey of water velocities in the CSS study areas.
NSERC's PromoScience Program offers financial support for Science Odyssey which is Canada's largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, featuring fun and inspiring experiences in museums, research centres, laboratories and classrooms from coast to coast. Powered by NSERC, Science Odyssey demonstrates how discoveries and innovations shape our daily lives and foster a strong science culture in Canada.
The objective of the EAF is to support community based projects across Canada that improve accessibility, remove barriers, and enable Canadians with disabilities to participate in and contribute to their community.
