Supporting Conservation Management of Stswecem’c Xget’tem First Nation’s Lands: Conservation Planning, Threat Mitigation, Capacity Development, and Restoration Action.
Grassland Restoration and Traditional Management
This program is an integral component of the AFS and facilitates the voluntary retirement of commercial licences and the issuance of licences to eligible Aboriginal groups in a manner that does not add to the existing fishing effort, thereby providing Aboriginal groups with much-needed employment and income.
This project aims to purchase a greenhouse with irrigation and foundation.
To support the restoration of valued marine and freshwater aquatic habitats, respond to fish habitat restoration priorities and contribute to the long-term sustainability of fish and fish habitat. In particular the program prioritizes projects proposed by Indigenous groups consulted in relation to the Trans Mountain Expansion project (TMX), in the Salish Sea area as well as along the Fraser river watershed and in-land freshwater area along the length of the TMX pipeline.
Not a Project (Mandated or Core Funding)
This project is mostly about advancing reconciliation through Indigenous participation in the forest industy.
