Expansion of fabrication capabilities and development of new export markets to reduce tariff exposure and diversify revenues.
The project goal is to design and build a tilt table assembly, with up to 50000 kg capacity, to perform stability tests on heavy commercial vehicles or buses. This presents a significant opportunity to enhance safety and performance in the transportation industry. The project involves creating a robust and reliable system that can accurately simulate real-world conditions, to determine the rollover threshold of large vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards and regulations.
Design, validate and build low temperature testing chamber to perform cold temperature tests on Industrial cabs and equipment systems as per standard “IEC-60068-2-1” and customer-specific testing standards; to evaluate the effects of storage, operation and manipulation of Cabs when exposed to cold temperatures during their life cycle. The tests will evaluate performance and durability of seals and insulation, efficiency of HVAC system in the cabin, and battery performance.
1) Testing station design extension for Roll-Over Protective Structures (ROPS) and new testing station for Falling-Object Protective Structures (FOPS) to meet ISO certification covering design of Cabs/Carriers 2) ISO 3471 ROPS test: Full scale destructive testing - static load applied lateral, vertical and longitudinal axis to ensure Cab/Carrier sustains accident loading without damage and protects personnel inside 3) ISO 3449 FOPS test: Level 1/2 Certification required – full scale destructive testing – dynamic load imparted to roof of Cab/Carrier to ensure its body sustains the accident loa
Automation and development of new improved Testing Equipment to withstand more forces and capable of reading real time deflection and energy measurements via deploying laser devices in conjunction with digital readouts for better accuracy at time of testing.
Develop lightweight aluminum or aluminum/steel personnel carriers for the mining industry that can perform to ISO3471 and ISO3449 standards on all brands of pickup trucks. The industry standard has been to use Toyota Landcruiser diesel trucks underground, but with the introduction of affordable electric trucks such as the Ford Lightening, there may be a move to other platforms as electrification becomes more common. TopROPS would like to start designing options for these vehicles before mines begin to deploy them so that we can offer a mature solution. These trucks present additional challenge
The market is dominated for by Toyota, Komatsu, and Land Cruiser for various type/size/capacity of Mining Utility vehicles with Personnel carriers. The brands such as GM, Dodge and Ford are introducing EV Battery Utility vehicles in market that could accommodate Personnel carriers. The firm will research “Universal Cassette Equipment” (UCE) that could be used to Mount/dismount Personnel with Utility vehicles on two or more unique type/size/capacity of utility vehicles.
The project aims to add seat belt anchorage and other tensile testing applications such as bollards, bolts, pipes, rods, chains, slings, etc. to our ROPS test station. These new tensile test arrangements would be designed with a set of reusable adaptors and jigs to accommodate different test specimens. Battery Electric Vehicles that are being introduced to the market are heavier than their ICE counterparts. The increase in weight is causing OEMs to retest their existing CABS so that they can be recertified for higher vehicle weight ratings of BEVs. With this increase in demand for ROPS certif
Addressing the demand for a truck bed equipped with a crane or main boom in the competitive landscape of mining, construction, and maintenance industries, TopRops is introducing a hybrid modification for trucks. This modification includes optional features tailored to specific requirements, encompassing main boom and platform material handling. Additionally, the inclusion of a Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS) for the attached man basket and truck operator ensures a seamless operation in compliance with ANSI A92.2 standards. These vehicles showcase material handling capacities of up t
The Project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the Firm.
