Participate in NASA’s Human Research Program largest research effort to pursue the first integrated data analysis from 71 astronauts collected over 12 years. Assess metabolomic biomarkers in blood and urine to identify metabolic signatures linked to long-duration spaceflight. Using artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches, link metabolomic profiles to individual physiological, environmental, dietary, medical, and exercise data to gain insights into sex-specific adaptative mechanisms, pathogenic pathways, and risk factors of spaceflight.

The next generation of far-infrared (FIR) space astronomy missions will employ detectors whose sensitivity is over two orders of magnitude higher than any previously flown. To exploit this exquisite sensitivity requires a fundamentally different type of instrument architecture. The main objectives of this project are to develop the world’s first cryogenic, far-infrared, post-dispersed, polarizing Fourier transform spectrometer (PDPFTS) and to investigate the challenges associated with this concept under realistic space conditions. Simply put, in order to achieve the potential 100-fold increa

Following the JWST ERS and Cycle 1 GO Announcement of Opportunity published on June 14, 2021, the CSA is providing funding via a Grant Agreement to the university to conduct their research using the JWST data. This project will target the stellar-mass black hole V404 Cyg combining JWST and ALMA observations. The black hole pulls material off the companion star, some of which can be transported back outwards in the form of a jetted outflow. The project will observe how the millimeter/infrared emission varies with wavelength and time in the lowest luminosity states. Such novel observations all
