Farmers and agronomists spend substantial time physically travelling to monitor crops. The project is focused on developing an innovative AI-driven device for sensor-based autonomous ground-truthing. Computer vision and ML-based approaches are being used to provide a real-time solution that is scalable to provide best-in-class crop monitoring.
Farmers and agronomists spend substantial time travelling to each field to monitor plant health, disease, and the environment. AIRM Consulting is developing an innovative artificial intelligence-driven device for sensor-based 3D autonomous ground-truthing that integrates light detection and ranging (lidar) and multi-spectral sensors. Computer vision and machine learning are used to provide a real-time solution that is scalable, mobile, and optimized leading to novel quantitative data and crop monitoring, driving adoption of precision agriculture-based technologies with applications to decision
This project will support a feasibility assessment for the development of an innovative AI-driven mobile device and sensor array for real-time, autonomous, non-destructive crop monitoring. A data aggregator will combine scan data with field-centric sensor data together with wide-scale data to provide a complete temporal and geo-spatial data record of crop growth.
The intent of this project is to develop key market contacts and potential collaborators, as well as to obtain legal expertise to develop a strategy for licensing or sale of the product, intellectual property protection.
