Modeling of a DFMA platform of prefabricated building systems optimized for the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of buildings of a repetitive nature in order to minimize costs in the context of multi-manufacturer projects.
As a whole, the GoKit project aims to create a digital design platform, a constructive system (LMD oriented) and an innovative business model (multi-manufacturer oriented) for the development of the ecosystem associated with modular construction in order to meet high volume orders for the Canadian and American markets.
Equip and upgrade Quebec’s ecosystem of industrialized structural component manufacturers to increase housing production capacity in Quebec and North America, and reduce construction time and costs.
A set of digital tools was developed in 2024-2025 to facilitate the design process for multi-story buildings using standardized structural components. BIM objects, a Revit plug-in, and a collaboration portal including transport calculations and carbon impact have been implemented. Preliminary tests carried out on these tools have demonstrated the viability of the concept in facilitating exchanges between architects, structural engineers, and structural component manufacturers. Before deploying the tools on a large scale, concrete building projects must first be designed in which architects,
The GoKit system will provide a multi-manufacturer response to high-volume affordable housing orders for domestic and foreign markets. It is agreed that the GoKit system will integrate low-carbon building practices and technologies to meet the needs of the target market in consideration of Canada's objectives for carbon-neutral buildings. The project in hand concerns the development of the third generation of the building system (phase 4 of the Gokit program).
