This 28-month project will strengthen the capacity of Capital Rainbow Refuge (CRR) to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by growing its organizational and managerial capacity to become a stronger legal entity with a democratic governance. CRR will develop a communication system to reach group leaders, newcomers, members/volunteers, and donors through strategic and financial planning, which includes diversifying funding sources, such as joint fundraising, fundraising models for their small groups, and direct mail to ensure long term sustainability. Through this 30-month project, Capital Rainbow Refuge will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address the need for a community-centred approach to operations and for LGBTQI+ newcomer involvement and leadership when it comes to the planning, development of policies and programming that concern them. The project will include putting in place a Co-Executive Director model to guarantee the smooth transition of Executive Leadership to an LGBTQI+ newcomer; creating an LGBTQI+ Newcomer Committee and hosting a Leadership Sum
