Develop rod string design software, and a Gas lift optimization system$150Kvalue2021start2022end

DV8 is building a rod string design software product called DV8 Dynamics. This software will design the sucker rod pumping system and eliminate the high error rate in rod string design. The current software used for designing wells was developed when wells were mainly vertical and does not produce an accurate rod design for deviated wells. This ends up costing producers a significant amount of money due to increased maintenance issues, equipment failures and the associated losses in production and work over costs. DV8 will develop a gas lift solution. DV8 GL will use machine learning models to

YEP: Designing and connecting iot hardware to the cloud$60.0Kvalue2021start2022end

One of the major challenges with industrial internet of things technology (iiot) is connecting the physical devices in the field to the cloud. Systems need to be easy to install otherwise it creates more challenges to technology adoption. This project aims to design and develop easy to use iiot hardware. The challenge with the existing systems is the complexity involved in configuring devices and the time spent wiring and troubleshooting in the field. This project will design a system for preconfiguring units remotely and engineer plug and play systems for faster deployment. This will reduce

Field testing edge device & model on deviated and horizonal wells$30.0Kvalue2019start2020end

The project will consist of running DV8 edge devices on a number of different wells. The Firm wants to test its mathematical model over a range of different well types in terms of depth, deviation and complexity. The wells are heavy oil wells, using rod pumps & Rotaflex surface pumping units. The edge device will gather data, complete diagnostics on downhole conditions, display the generated downhole dynamometer card to the user through the internet, and send commands to the pumping unit to speed up if more production is available, or slow down to save energy. The depth ranges from 1200 meters
