This project aims to strengthen the sustainability of PEI's agricultural sector by co-developing and testing beneficial management practices (BMPs) on Island farms. In addition, the project places a significant emphasis on identifying and addressing financial and non-financial barriers to BMP adoption.
The objective of this project is to develop, demonstrate and evaluate multiple BMPs that will address agri-environmental issues in PEI such as nutrient losses due to soil erosion and its impact on receiving waters, declining soil organic matter, nutrient losses due to improper water management techniques and fertilizer applications for better nutrient management.
The objective of this project is the development of a comprehensive project proposal that will be submitted for contribution funding and/or collaborative research and development support.
