Funding will support research development to enable and augment the ability of the defence and security personnel to: •detect, recognize, and identify persons or objects of interest in a physical environment, and/or; •track identified persons and objects of interest using seamless information sharing across a decision network.
Ecopia AI is undertaking a global rollout of high-definition 2D and 3D digital maps, produced at-scale from geospatial imagery using its proprietary Canadian AI technology.
To expand its technology and commercialize its new cloud-based platform.
Ecopia leverages AI to convert high resolution images of the earth into HD vector maps. This digital representation of the real world offers unique insight for decision-making at-scale.
Ecopia is developing a proprietary street-level imagery capture and processing technology, extending its existing AI-driven mapping capabilities. This project aims to enhance map accuracy and data richness by incorporating detailed street-level data, unlocking new commercial opportunities in asset management, civil engineering and government sectors.
RRRF funding will be used to support Recipients to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ecopia has developed artificial intelligence technology that produces high-accuracy 2D vector maps of various features (buildings, roads, etc.) from satellite imagery at a large scale. This project will enable Ecopia to expand on that capability, adapting the technology to produce 3D maps from satellite imagery at a large-scale.
Ecopia has developed and scaled artificial intelligence technology that identifies and extracts building features from geospatial imagery, outputting a vector feature layer of buildings (a digital “Building Map”). This project aims to allow Ecopia to adapt and further develop this capability to extract a vector feature layer of roads (a digital “Road Map”) from geospatial imagery.
Activities include identifying defence-specific technical and interoperability requirements, engaging Canadian and allied stakeholders, and producing a demonstration dataset aligned to operational use cases. The project will reduce technical and procurement risk while strengthening Canada’s capabilities in AI-enabled geospatial technologies.
To attend international conferences, leverage UK contacts made at these conferences, follow up with subsequent direct travel to the UK to close sales deals.
