To scale operations to produce switched reluctance motors (SRM) used in electric ground support vehicles.

Ventium Power: Wind Energy Systems - Evolved$584Kvalue2025start2026end

Enedym is a Canadian company at the cutting edge of electric motors and controls. Its proprietary technology will revolutionize the deployment of electric motors in clean energy production, transportation and industrial drives. The company’s patented Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) technology offers robust, highly reliable and low-cost solutions to many sectors from clean energy production, to transportation, to industrial applications. SRMs do not use permanent magnets, which are sensitive to operating temperature and require rare earth materials with their associated challenges in global sup

2-in-1 Electric Scooter Motor Drive with Rare Earth Magnet Free Switched Reluctance Motor$300Kvalue2025start2026end

In the proposed project, Enedym will develop an integrated switched reluctance motor drive for an electric Scooter. Enedym's switched reluctance motor technology doesn’t include rare-earth metals. Hence, it will reduce the cost and improve supply chain security of the next-generation electric scooters. The inverter and motor are integrated into the same housing. This will further reduce the cost by eliminating production and assembly of a separate inverter and by removing high-power cables connecting the inverter to the motor. In the proposed project, the motor geometry, windings and the power

Rare Earth Magnet Free Propulsion Motor Drive Development for Low-voltage Electric Ground Support Equipment Tractors$280Kvalue2024start2025end

In this project, Enedym will develop the next generation electric motor drives for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) tractors. The electric motor drives will be developed for a low-operating voltage with Enedym’s Switched Reluctance Motor Drive Technology, which has a simple, robust, low-cost construction. The project will provide economic benefits to Canada’s automotive and industrial sector, environmental benefits to Canada by reducing emissions, and it will put Canada at the forefront of reducing its dependency on the volatile supply chain of rare earth metals.

Development of a Low Electromagnetic Emission Rare Earth Magnet-Free Switched Reluctance Motor Drive$280Kvalue2026start2027end

Enedym is developing an advanced high-voltage, high-power inverter that enables quieter, more efficient operation of electric towing vehicles used in demanding environments. The new inverter design will significantly reduce electromagnetic interference, ensuring compliance with stringent performance and reliability standards. Through innovative engineering and refined control software, the project will deliver a compact, robust, and low‑emission power solution that enhances the efficiency and safety of next‑generation electric mobility systems.

FPCM-Demonstration of Rare-Earth-Magnet-Free Switched Reluctance Motor Drive in a Pushback Tractor for an Airport Ground Support Application$150Kvalue2025start2026end

In this project, Enedym will demonstrate its Actium Duo product as a part of a modular powertrain kit, expanding upon our successful approach used in smaller airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE) vehicles. We will integrate Actium Duo drive system into a pushback GSE tractor and operate it at an airport under real-world conditions.
