The construction sector faces urgent pressure to decarbonize concrete, one of the world’s largest sources of CO2 emissions. Low-carbon supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) can reduce Portland cement use by 30-40%, but limited supply and regional availability remain key barriers. EnviCore has developed a proprietary low-temperature mineral transformation process that converts abundant industrial residues and minerals into high-performance SCMs.
Develop Technologies that can effectively de-water technologies and transform the tailings waste into a valuable resource and offer numerous advantages over the incumbent solution and to develop tailings treatment processes along with extracting critical raw materials for value-added applications to re purpose pyrite-rich tailings.

The funding provided by the IAP program is intended to assist innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in the start-up phase that cannot access existing commercial support related to COVID-19.
The project entails performing lab experiments to test chemical and mechanical-based tailings treatment/separation technology on a multitude of samples such as zinc, gold, and oil sands tailings.
The project involves hiring a Technical Associate to help achieve changing the negative perception surrounding mine tailings. Transforming Waste Minerals into Cementitious Materials
The project entails performing research of potential clients, sector dynamics, and competitors to assist in the formation of a customized go-to-market strategy. The gathered information to update current contact lists for current markets, as well as develop contact lists for expansion into different sectors with the hard rock mining vertical. Additional research will be performed to establish a robust business strategy and business plans.
The current nickel and cobalt extraction process involve open-pit mining of the lateritic ore, which is then processed on-site using high-pressure acid leaching into mixed sulfides containing nickel and cobalt. To develop the technology for the autoclave feed pulp thickening within the bounds and parameter space of a current feed pulp thickening, with the goal of increasing the feed pulp density and thus improve specific solids throughput of the autoclave leach.
