To create collaboration among justice system stakeholders, funders, staff, and participants to share experiences on what is effective in terms of restorative justice. To gather and network to improve relationships and build bridges between the mainstream justice system and Indigenous communities in order to pave a new path for indigenous justice.
This project will update and produce new training facilitator manuals and videos for community justice forums, peacemaking circles, Healthy Relationships facilitator manuals, and cross-cultural packages for justice professionals to be more inclusive of youth and elders. All of these training resources would be available to all Indigenous Justice Programs.
Through this project, Four Circles Justice Society will develop resources to increase awareness of program and activities, host a two-day conference, a cross-cultural training session, and follow-up workshops to build relationships and develop partnerships between their Indigenous justice Program, communities and justice stakeholders. These sessions will help to develop best practices, and new and innovative models for implementation.
This grant will support one Gladue Aftercare worker from the organization to attend a conference about subject matter strongly connected to their work.
