GBatteries is pioneering extreme fast charge battery technology without compromising battery life, and without changing battery’s chemistry or manufacturing process. GBatteries is on a mission to enable Electric Vehicles (EV's) to charge as fast as it takes to fill-up a tank of gas. The objective of the proposed project is to develop a charging adapter for EV's in order to demonstrate the performance of GBatteries’ technology on an EV battery pack. This project will demonstrate the scalability of the technology from a small Power Tools to large EV battery pack, verify GBatteries’ unprecedented
The project focuses on validating and adapting GBatteries' innovative battery management system (BMS), IntelligentBMS, for electric aircraft. The goal is to integrate IntelligentBMS into advanced Li-metal battery modules, which will be rigorously tested and validated for the industrial partner. The project aims to improve battery efficiency, charge speed, cycle life, cost, and safety, enabling commercially viable performance for electric aircraft using GBatteries' proprietary technology. Testing will occur under diverse operational conditions to ensure safety and reliability.
The funding provided from the Innovation Assistance Program is to assist innovative, early-stage small- and medium-sized enterprises that are unable to access existing COVID-19 business support.
Funding under the Innovator Stream will support continued research and development of solutions under National Defence’s Funding for Canadian Innovators and Accelerators of DIANA (FCIA-DIANA) program.
The funding provided by the IAP program is intended to assist innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in the start-up phase that cannot access existing commercial support related to COVID-19.
In partnership with a foreign firm, an electric vehicle manufacturer, demonstrate the firm’s fast battery charge technology and evaluate the degradation of the manufacturer’s custom battery cells, cycled with the firm’s protocol as compared to standard charging.
