CIIP-India project with Tata Motors Limited. inMotive’s IRAP project aims to develop and test an efficient and robust multispeed gearbox (inGear) transmission for electric vehicles with Tata Motors Limited, India. This inGear will pave way to revolutionize the EV field by enabling gear change without torque interruption.
This project will focus on enhancing Ingear Transmission performance through validating the gear shift actuation system, development of an efficient lubrication strategy and structural optimization of the transmission housing to reduce friction, improve durability, and achieve weight reduction. These efforts aim to support the design and development of a 2-gear transmission suitable for deployment in OEMs vehicle program for commercialization development.
To support southern Ontario Community Futures Development Corporations in the provision of Canada Emergency Business Account-like loan support to businesses and organizations that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over a period of approximately 8 months, this project will involve the design, development, and testing of potential solutions that allow the Ingear transmission to be capable of regenerating and feeding energy back to a battery electric vehicle. Once the best solution is selected, the design will be optimized and revalidated for improvements.
