Nanotechnology Enabled Tooling
Funding will support research and development to identify solutions to National Defence’s Super sanitize: Cleaning sensitive equipment and workspaces Challenge. Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) in collaboration with Canada’s defence, security and public safety communities are looking for viable and effective processes and methods for safely and rapidly decontaminating enclosed work environments (e.g., buildings and modes of transportation) containing sensitive equipment.

This project entitled ""Nanometal Enabled Multifunctional Composites for Space Applications"" aims to optimize and test a novel nanomaterial that has equivalent or better performance than aluminum in mechanical strength and stiffness, electromagnetic interference shielding, thermal conduction, and surface dust erosion resistance, with at least a 30% reduction in mass.
To increase capabilities, improve efficiency, and safeguard key revenue streams
Integran proposes to develop a unique, hybrid coating with durable-hydrophobic, antiviral and antimicrobial properties. The proposed coating will possess easy-to-clean properties while rapidly and continuously deactivating viruses and killing harmful bacteria and fungi on contact. The proposed coating has the ability to reduce fomite transmission (indirect contact transmission) of viruses (including COVID-19), bacteria and fungi, which can result in significant social, health, and economic benefits. The proposed coating will continuously kill 99.9% of bacteria and deactivate viruses. The
Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth, particularly those who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills.
