Accelerate Adoption of AI-Powered Waste Sorting Systems in BC
Plastics Challenge: Improving the collection and/or sorting of plastic film and flexible packaging (Phase 2) - Integrated Novel Sorting Platform
The project aims to (a) develop a method to systemically quantify the carbon levels present at ground-elevation using hyperspectral imagery and AI as well as to (b) create an environmental model deriving the amount of carbon sequestered (or emitted) at any location.
The project aims to build a method to systemically and methodically quantify the Carbon dioxide (CO2) level present at ground-elevation using hyperspectral data. Hyperspectral data captures the entire spectrum per pixel, providing a vast amount of information. By combining CO2 data captured at ground-elevation as the ground-truth labels, a Machine Learning model will be developed that is able to take satellite hyperspectral data as its input, and predict its underlying CO2 level. This project aims to provide the information required for the governments and private entities such as farmers to t
Plastics challenge: Improving the collection and/or sorting of plastic film and flexible packaging – Integrated Novel Sorting Platform for Increased Recycling Efficacy (INSPIRE)
Compression.ai is building the first solution to compress hyperspectral imagery in real-time. Processing over 3 Gbps and consuming under 1W of power, it is ripe for mission-critical applications in the defence and space sectors.
This project proposes to develop a plugin for ENVI or ArcGIS that integrates advanced spectral data analysis capabilities directly into these industry-standard geospatial analysis platforms.
This project will assess dual-use needs for interpreting time-evolving hyperspectral signatures across multi-temporal and multi-platform EO systems.
