This IRAP Project will help our firm develop a new robotic welding automation application that will optimize arc control, enhance weld consistency, and prevent wire feeding issues to achieve superior welding performance.
This R&D project developed a new advanced gas metal arc welding system for applications where low heat input and high efficiency is required, impacting spatter generation. This new system will incorporate advanced silicon hardware as well as machine learning software to reach its goal by recognizing patterns in the measured data and applying changes to achieve the optimal outcome through the welding arc.
Contact tip changes as well as removal of spatter in nozzles by a reamer, are necessary tasks in robotic MIG welding applications. Reaming stations, such as the NASARC INTELLIREAM has been in use for many years and offer an automated solution to spatter removal in nozzles. Contact tip changes, on the other hand continue to be a predominantly manual task performed multiple times a day at significant cost. The project in reference seeks to combine the 2 tasks into a single assembly with enhanced features.
This project helped complete R&D and testing an innovative welding application that can be used in either a conventional robotic or semi-automatic welding application.
The purpose of this CanExport SMEs agreement is to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for activities related to export market development that are part of an export business case for a specific target market, particularly where activities are targeting departmental priority markets and sectors.
