The project is to launch Peak's Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) business, which allows electric vehicles to discharge electricity back to the grid or building to optimize energy efficiency.
To commercialize a Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) business, allowing electric vehicles to discharge electricity back to the grid or building to optimize energy efficiency.
This project is mostly related to technology demonstration.
Peak Power is a Toronto-based climate tech company that enables contributors to climate change to be a part of the solution. Peak designs and delivers AI-powered software that transforms buildings from static energy consumers into dynamic, revenue-generating assets. Their technology optimizes commercial buildings through the intelligent management of energy use, energy storage, and EV grid integration. Peak Power is building a distributed energy resource aggregation (DERA), that has the potential to be a catalyst for deep decarbonization within the buildings, energy, and transportation sectors
The purpose of this agreement is to increase awareness, availability and use of lower carbon vehicles and fuels in Canada by supporting the installation of 132 electric vehicle chargers across Canada.
The key objective of the project will be to enable Peak's Insight platform to directly integrate into a BMS/BAS, which will support Peak in achieving its goals of grid-interactive buildings and penetrating the U.S. market.
Utilization of Peak’s Synergy Software to test/ prove the feasibility of a new Distributed Energy Resource (DER) asset class, Electric Vehicles (EVs), to target the most expensive hours of peak demand for building owners.
Peak Drive is a demonstration project of 20 grid connected cars in Toronto. To move this project to the next step, a critical component will be ensuring that Peak’s controls hardware is properly integrated into the battery systems in line with project schedules and customer requirements.
The purpose of this CanExport SMEs agreement is to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for activities related to export market development that are part of an export business case for a specific target market, particularly where activities are targeting departmental priority markets and sectors.
Peak is seeking to establish a footprint in markets beyond North America, and will be conducting multiple trips to Europe, Japan, and Australia to seek strategic investors and partners to establish its presence in these markets.
The project focuses on predictive modelling on energy price volatility within IESO (Ontario) and furthur potential in NYISO (New York). The wholesale electricity utilizes energy price for generators and buyers to efficiently procure electricity and unnecessary delta among different energy prices can lead to high costs of energy procurement and generator dispatch in both the day ahead, real time, and derivative markets.
This project focus on improving the predictive modelling for provincial level electricity demand, which sets all class A electricity consumers’ global adjustment payments in Ontario. The major components of this projects includes the quantification of extreme weather events’ impact in electricity consumption and the nowcast (extreme short term, <3 hour forecast) of such events. Weather events, such as thunderstorm, extreme heat waves are rare to observe and thus many existing weather/climate level modelling yields suboptimal performance when fitting to the level accuracy requirement here.
