Multi-Sensor Fusion of Electronic Scanning Radars, GNSS and Onboard Sensors for Autonomous Driving$290Kvalue2021start2023end

This project will develop a multi-sensor fusion software for seamless positioning at decimeter level of accuracy with high integrity for autonomous vehicles (AVs) integrating data from onboard motion sensors, GNSS receiver and Electronic Scanning Radars (ESR). The new software will enable robust positioning and mapping for AVs and will sustain the decimeter level of positioning performance seamlessly everywhere in all operating conditions for autonomy levels three and higher.

Self-Driving/Assisted Driving Positioning System Software$250Kvalue2018start2019end

The proposed project is to develop a positioning system software for self-driving/assisted driving vehicular applications. The new software will permit: (1) high-precision stand-alone global navigation satellite system (GNSS) operation insensitive to wireless communication disconnection with correction to signal outages; (2) high-precision stand-alone inertial navigation system (INS) operation without GNSS aiding; (3) Continuously available and robust multi-sensor navigation solutions in challenging environments.

Instantaneous Inertial and Precise Point Positioning Software System for Mobile Devices$250Kvalue2019start2021end

The proposed project is to develop an instant precise positioning software for mobile devices applications, which focuses on the development and implementation of new methods and algorithms to process carrier phase measurements from next generation mobile devices to enable: (1) multi-constellation and multi-frequency GNSS positioning performance at decimeter to sub-meter accuracy; (2) integrated GNSS and multi-sensor fusion for continuous precise positioning in challenging environments; (3) software library to run on mobile devices. The software system development is a response to strong indu
