Quaternion Aerospace will develop a low cost, highly capable, and fully Canadian nanosatellite platform to strengthen domestic space industry capabilities and decouple from reliance on foreign suppliers. This platform will provide all of the systems needed to build a satellite, allowing Canada’s science, business, and defense industries to get their technologies into orbit quicker and at a lower cost, without any dependence on foreign countries. Quaternion will offer an off-the-shelf solution - either as individual components, or as a complete satellite bus - ready to be tailored to Canada's m
Develop a modular, aircraft-agnostic Magnetic Anomaly Detection (MAD) payload designed for integration on small uncrewed aerial vehicles for both defence and civilian use.
This project is a feasibility study as the first phase of the UAV medical supply delivery logistics initiative in partnership with Island Health. This project will focus on defining operational and regulatory requirements to strengthen the foundation for a full-scale implementation. It will also improve the readiness for commercialization by aligning the UAV and Smart Payload technologies with real-world logistics needs (and define operational mission profiles) for emerging Canadian BVLOS & ISO standards.
The capability of small satellites have advanced in the last decade into mission capable assets. Without propulsion systems, they lack maneuverability to exploit advantages as constellations. It is proposed to evaluate the feasibility using aerodynamic forces generated in the low earth orbit to improve maneuverability of small satellites.
The purpose of this CanExport Innovation agreement is to support Canadian organizations to carry out activities related to pursuing opportunities that would lead to establishing new collaborative Research and Development (R&D) partnerships between the Recipient and foreign organizations in order to support R&D on the Recipient’s technology and advance its commercialization.
