The project aims to develop a yeast-derived RNA interference (RNAi) biopesticide using virus-like particle (VLP) technology.
Renaissance BioScience has developed a patent-pending, bioactive molecule production and delivery platform. A specialized yeast system operates as a production and delivery vector for bioactive RNA molecules. This project supports development of a high-throughput R&D platform to discover, validate, and apply the technology in industry sectors, including agriculture and healthcare.
As part of the international consortium project "BioPlasticAccel", the Firm will develop yeast strains and fermentation methods for productino of key industrial chemicals, for use as renewable alternatives to petroleum-based plastics. Sustainable bioplastics may be used for packaging, personal care, and consumer goods.
Develop a high-throughput, comprehensive yeast characterization pipeline enabling the development of next generation of selectively bred beer and wine yeast strains.
Development of a platform biosynthesis yeast strain to produce high value flavour and aroma molecules by upcycling of low-value fruit-based substrates for precision fermentation and process scale-up to industrial relevant volumes.
This International Co-Innovation Action Program (ICAP) project will prepare the firm to enter into future international co-innovation work.
The project will support development of bacterial strains for the production and oral delivery of RNAi effector molecules in one or more model species.
