SixRing’s project involves the conversion of its current product streams (cellulose and a liquid biocrude) into a combined unique stream of molecules that can be used in the established Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) process for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). SixRing’s new research will allow for the use of non-food lignocellulosic biomass for the generation of structurally similar molecules to those used in the HEFA process; which will increase the supply of these molecules and help mitigate the price increases for cooking oils observed globally.
The project is for to create SAF (sustainable aviation fuel ) from ag. waste by researching the following: - Taurine Development & Production Project - Cellulose R&D + Optimization: Cellulose to Ethanol - LHDO (liquid Lignin-Hemicullulose-Deolymerization-Organis (LHDO) - R&D + Optimization: Fine Chemicals Project
