Undertake market development activities
Undertake commercialization and business development activities
Undertake initiatives to mitigate the impacts of ongoing tariff and trade volatility
Provide assistance to mitigate impacts of Covid-19
The Firm is advancing wireless power and data solutions for harsh and dynamic environments, including rotating systems, corrosive or dirty atmospheres, extreme temperatures such as the Arctic, and undersea applications. Platforms such as helicopters, drones, robotics, and undersea sensors benefit from the Firm’s technology, which overcomes the reliability limits of wired connections. By eliminating failures caused by corrosion, vibration, wear, and sealing challenges, the Firm's technology enables reliable and efficient operation for aerospace, defence, and military applications.
This project will assess the applicability of advanced wireless power technology to defence and dual-use applications. Activities will focus on understanding defence market opportunities, procurement pathways, and technical adaptation requirements. The project will strengthen the firm’s readiness to engage with defence stakeholders while supporting Canada’s defence innovation ecosystem and expanding ommercialization potential in both defence and civilian markets.
The project will support two recent engineering graduates to develop wireless power solutions for lower power in the range from 1W to 100W to B2C and B2B customer and to improve software and firmware quality of Solace's wireless power products. The work will be based on Solace's new power product platform "Power Micro" which is well scalable in this power range and easy to customize for different requirements. Solace's core technologies (Power Inverter, DC/DCs, RF, software) are to be improved and new features shall be integrated (Battery Management, Wireless Power Health Control. miniaturiza
The SUSTAINET feasibility study project is to help firm define their strategic roadmap, individual KPIs and integration points to better align their unique contribution to the project.

This project will see the firm hire a recent engineering graduate to develop firmware on microcontrollers to control and monitor Solace' wireless power solutions. The firmware is to be platform based and will be reusable for many customer applications, i.e. Boeing, LMCO and Solace Power's first B2C product "Power Micro". New features will be developed, i.e. Battery Management System (BMS) and In-Band data rate increase.
Solace Power's manufacturing capabilities shall be improved in this project by setting up in-house low volume manufacturing processes and capabilities and coordinating outsourcing of higher volume manufacturing for Solace’s OEM products and own products. The key technology to improve Solace's new manufacturing capability is injection molding of enclosures, which requires a good understanding of mechanical design with thermal and lifecycle quality aspects of wireless power products.
