This project is mostly related to technology demonstration.
SolarSteam is pursuing the development and commercialization of a unique design for commercial and utility-scale concentrating solar-thermal systems, targeting adopters in extreme (northern, tropical, desert) climates. This project will support the design and testing of SolarSteam's pilot systems for customers requiring heat (steam and hot water) for industrial processes and heating and cooling applications.
This project will address the technology de-risking related to integrating SolarSteam's technology with evaporative chillers for implementation in data centres infrastructure.
Funding under the Innovator Stream will support continued research and development of solutions under National Defence’s Funding for Canadian Innovators and Accelerators of DIANA (FCIA-DIANA) program.
With more energy consumption of heat in the industrial sector than there is electricity consumed globally, the problem that SolarSteam is addressing is the high-cost and high-emissions associated with process heat. This project will support the design of a novel concentrating solar system for extreme climate heat-intensive industry markets looking to improve performance and be more carbon and cost-effective.
This project will focus on digital design and stakeholder engagement to support SolarSteam's R&D and commercialization efforts. The digital designer will work closely with SolarSteam's c-suite team to develop digital content that fits both their artistic sensibilities and SolarSteam’s goals and direction. The Engagement Specialist will focus on coordinating and supporting R&D and commercialization roadmap development inclusion but not limited to developing business and technical presentations to help promote SolarSteam to public and private funders, customers and all public stakeholders. With more energy consumption of heat in the industrial sector than there is electricity consumed globally, the problem that SolarSteam is addressing is the high-cost and high-emissions associated with process heat. This Calgary-based renewable-technology company is developing novel concentrating solar systems designed for northern climate heat-intensive industry markets looking to improve performance and be more carbon and cost-effective. In this project, SolarSteam will complete the design of their prototype solar concentrator module..
This project will provide SolarSteam's technical team with increased bench straight with placement of a young professional.
The project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the firm.
The purpose of this CanExport SMEs agreement is to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for activities related to export market development that are part of an export business case for a specific target market, particularly where activities are targeting departmental priority markets and sectors.
The purpose of this CanExport Innovation agreement is to support Canadian organizations to carry out activities related to pursuing opportunities that would lead to establishing new collaborative Research and Development (R&D) partnerships between the Recipient and foreign organizations in order to support R&D on the Recipient’s technology and advance its commercialization.
