(20STDPN03) A backlog of small satellites awaiting launch currently exists and forces long wait times before satellite operators can launch their product. SpaceRyde aims to address this issue by providing low-cost on-demand launch services with a balloon/rocket launch system. The rocket is launched from a stratospheric balloon at the edge of the atmosphere. In the absence of dense atmospheric layers, the rocket operates at its peak efficiency, making small satellite launches cost-efficient. This project includes the development of an extremely light nozzle for SpaceRyde's rocket, and is a maj
SpaceRyde launch vehicle components including hardware and software to control the rocket nozzle will be developed and tested as part of this project. This is a step towards developing SpaceRyde’s balloon/rocket launch vehicle.
A launch system based on launching a rocket from a balloon will be designed, and built during this project, including the required hardware and software. This is a step towards building a taxi service for small satellites to space.
The funding provided by the IAP program is intended to assist innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in the start-up phase that cannot access existing commercial support related to COVID-19.
• The funding provided from the Innovation Assistance Program is to assist innovative, early-stage small- and medium-sized enterprises that are unable to access existing COVID-19 business support.

This project includes performance analysis and optimization of various launch vehicle subsystems in support of SpaceRyde’s mission on developing its proprietary space launch system for small satellites.
This project includes performance improvement of SpaceRyde’s launch vehicle for sending small satellites to space.
SpaceRyde gondola will be tested, in laboratory and flight conditions, to assess its performance, and improve based on test results. Gondola is the launchpad for SpaceRyde, enabling rocket launch from the balloon. This is a step towards developing SpaceRyde’s balloon/rocket launch vehicle.
SpaceRyde launch vehicle components including hardware and software will be developed and tested as part of this project including the rocket, rocket carrier, and ground station. This is a step towards developing SpaceRyde’s balloon/rocket launch vehicle.
This project includes conducting tests at SpaceRyde’s engine test facility, analyzing test data and improving the performance of SpaceRyde’s rocket to support the development of SpaceRyde's launch vehicle.
This project includes developing propulsion systems and supporting equipment, conducting tests and analyzing test data to improve the performance of SpaceRyde’s propulsion systems.
