The “Pop up City” Contest is a multi-phased contest for innovators to propose and develop reliable, energy efficient, integrated and scalable energy, water and waste management systems for Relocatable Temporary Camps
The ARCS integrated solution has two components that are designed to utilize proximity resources for energy generation as well as an integrated suite of waste treatment and clean water production technologies. The energy component will be a renewable based system integrated with the power grid of the RTC. The energy system is sized to offset the power necessary for the waste and wastewater treatment systems as well as a portion of the camps’ fossil fuel consumption, achieving a 35 percent reduction in diesel use. Each system component is an integrated design with commercially available solar P
The National Research Council of Canada (NRC), in collaboration with Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and Health Canada (HC), are seeking solutions for the efficient and cost effective recycling of disposable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) waste generated in the Canadian healthcare system.
