To scale manufacturing, product, and business development capacity.
This project will produce an alpha prototype of an Advanced low-cost RF Sensor capable of addressing ultra-wideband Spectrum Monitoring capabilities while achieving industry differentiating cost and size targets. The project scope includes optimization of ThinkRF Reference Designs using advanced signal processing methods as well as the development and driving the power curve of key RF Front-end components such as mmWave filters as well as improvements to the digital signal and throughput capabilities.
CELTIC project C2019/2-5 AIMM led by BT (UK). The objective of AIMM project is to develop secure and more efficient and reliable 5G communications systems for critical services in highly dense serving areas, thus enhancing the performance and robustness of mobile radio networks through utilization of AI techniques. The AI based techniques provide the ability to detect, measure and counter radio interference from unknown transmission sources to support 5G Spectral Efficiency & Performance tools as well to provide Wireless security for 5G services.
This project will deliver a ruggedized, modular, pocket-size wideband RF sensing node for scalable, autonomous spectrum monitoring operating up to 6 GHz.
ThinkRF will undertake the development of an embedded digital signal processing (DSP) engine for its broadband signal analyzer product line. The DSP engine will be able to accept digitized samples of radio frequency (RF) and use DSP algorithms to correct signal distortion, eliminate phase and frequency errors and compensate for other offsets in the RF signal chain. The post-processed RF signal samples will then be more readily analyzed or converted to a data stream in the end-use application. The embedded DSP engine will also enable the cloudification of ThinkRF's technology enabling the
ThinkRF will pilot AI/LLM strategies to transform structured SXM wireless-monitoring metadata into intelligent, explainable insights, notifications, and operational recommendations for interference management, rogue base-station detection, geolocation support, wireless security, and indoor/outdoor RF heatmap workflows. The project will help determine the most effective AI architecture, performance targets, and business case for integrating intelligent insight generation into the SXM product roadmap.
This project will assess and define the security, sourcing, and technical requirements needed to adapt a compact RF sensing product for defence applications. Work will include requirements analysis, system and component review, security and supply-chain assessment, engagement with specialized advisors, and targeted prototype and validation activities to identify gaps related to secure design, trusted components, and operational readiness. The project supports Canada’s priorities in advanced sensing, resilient digital infrastructure, and defence technology development.
This project will involve a study of current RF receiver technology with an emphasis on mmWave bands. The goal is to review the present ecosystem and to chart a technology roadmap with milestones to accelerate our platform's Time To Market.
The Technology & Business feasibility study for AI-based Wireless Spectrum Assessment will investigate the emerging trends in Industrial IoT, 5G deployments and critical Infrastructure and how the AI / Machine Learning technology can solve new and unforeseen risks in the new and complex wireless environments. The Study will also outline the key technology challenges and solutions of the state of the art, outline the business benefits to ThinkRF to the high technology region as well as the new opportunities and safety of Canada for having a homegrown capability
