Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness across Canada will have increased support through the Program. This is accomplished by providing direct funding to communities and mobilizing collaborators at the federal, provincial/territorial and community levels, as well as the private and voluntary sectors, to address barriers to well-being faced by Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness, through two funding streams: the Services and Supports Stream and the Capacity Building Stream.

The Veterans Transition Network delivers mental health services specifically for Veterans from coast to coast. With funding from the Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund, this organization will deliver and evaluate a promising new mental health and transition program for Veterans suffering from magnified mental health challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic
The project will train hundreds of Veterans to provide high-level peer support and paraprofessional counseling to support mental health, social integration, and self-care for other Veterans.
This project aims to expand access and awareness of women’s group counselling programs, specifically addressing the impact of Military Sexual Trauma (MST). The group model reflects military structure and culture, creating a familiar and supportive environment for healing. Expected outcomes include reduced trauma symptoms, improved mental health, stronger social support, and greater success in transitioning to civilian life.
This project offers a 5-day Transition Skills Course to 10 women (both active and retired military personnel) who have been affected by sexual misconduct across Canada, per year. Services are specifically designed for women to create a space for them to connect with their peers and speak openly about their experiences. VTN has sourced and trained female psychologists across Canada to enable them to provide an appropriate environment to deliver services to women affected by military sexual trauma.
