Scale operations to meet market demand
Commercialize Victory Advanced Technologies' electric motor
The Firm is building on its existing novel 50 KW 120 VDC electric motor and controller technology to serve rugged, industrial markets. To achieve the commercialization of this motor, (Technology Readiness Level 9) the Firm will have to scale and ruggedize existing mechanical and electrical components, develop a novel, in-house battery management system, improve test bench capabilities to allow for safe and efficient high-voltage (400 VDC) testing and trial the complete drivetrain in a real-world environment.
Victory Advanced Technologies Inc. (VAT) will conduct exploratory research to assess opportunities in the rapidly growing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sector, with a focus on heavy-lift drone propulsion and related technologies.
Engage an Electric Motor Controller Consultant
The firm wants to design the next generation of their internally developed Axial Flux Switch Reluctance motor. There are a lot of design improvements to be made in the next iteration to get better performance from the motor.
The scope of this project will be the quantification of the novel motor performance using both characterization testing of a physical motor and virtual dynamic motor model characterization (on hand). Identified limitations in the current stator design, power electronics, and control algorithm will be improved through redesign such that a physical implementation of the virtual model is produced with matching specifications. Successful outcomes will facilitate scaling the design to higher power and voltage levels in subsequent iterations.
Victory Advanced Technologies Inc. is developing a yoke-less axial flux switched reluctance motor that will have characteristics suitable for driving electric vehicles without a need for an intermediary gearbox.
During the development of the firm's novel yokeless axial-flux switched-reluctance five-phase electric motor with integrated power electronics Robert will be assisting the electrical engineering team in developing the power electronics (motor controller). His tasks will include assisting with the implementation of the test bench, gathering data pertaining to the motor and improving the power and logic stage, and software algorithms needed to power the technology. He will also be asked to assist with PCB design and 3D printing.
The Jr. Electronics Developer will assist in the designing, testing, assembling, and manufacturing of prototype and pre-production motor/generator controllers. This individual will have the opportunity to take on large, open-ended projects and is encouraged to be forward-thinking as we seek to optimize our state-of-the-art technology. This individual will work under CTO and an electrical engineer,.
