The Research component of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Class Grant and Contribution Program to support Research, Awareness and Learning in Space Science and Technology provides financial support to organizations to conduct space related research and development in priority areas. It will support targeted knowledge development and innovation to sustain and enhance the Canadian capacity to use space to address national needs and priorities in the future. This project has the objective(s): to support the development of science and technology relevant to the priorities of the Canadian Space Age
“Space STEM Activities for Lunar Robotics and AI” will aim to deliver interactive experiences to youth (grades 6 to 12 - Cégep 1 in Québec) across all Canadian provinces and territories through multiple streams: in-class workshops and activities, virtual presentations, and educational and interactive website, teacher training workshops, camp programs, and an adaptation of the Mission Control Academy. These hands-on learning experiences will educate youth on the use of AI-enabled robotics such as machine learning, career options in AI, and the development of robotic arm missions.
Western University in partnership with Nunavut Arctic College's CubeSat will conduct a flight-test with a novel imaging system for engineering technology demonstration with the potential to provide virtual reality-ready images. This imaging system has future applications in Earth observation and space exploration. Testing will demonstrate imaging modes for different in-orbit functions. By taking CubeSat operations into the classroom, it will help enhance the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) outreach program of the Western University's Centre for Planetary Science and Ex
This project will develop new algorithms for estimating crop biophysical variables using RADARSAT-2 quad-pol data, combined with data from optical satellite Venµs and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)

The goal of this project is to support players, educators, and policymakers to respond effectively to the privacy challenges posed by AI-generated NPCs. Researchers will: (1) review the ‘state of play’ with respect to AI-generated NPCs, focusing on gaming industry and player perspectives on the associated applications, goals, risks, and benefits; (2) summarize the academic literature that examines how NPCs might be designed or might behave in order to influence player behaviour, and the corresponding privacy implications; and, (3) critically assess the efficacy of educational and regulatory re
