Eureka SMART project S0302 AdManTool led by SVUM a.s (Czech Republic). This project is aimed at solving existing problems of near-net-shape laser additive cladding, particularly instability of the cladding process and the challenges with programming the laser beam trajectory resulting in an elimination of extra cladding steps and speeding-up the machining phase.
RRRF funding will be used to support Recipients to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the defense landscape to identify specific customer segments where our high-power laser and robotic welding technologies offer a distinct competitive advantage. Build procurement readiness & compliance roadmap by researching the complexities of federal defense contracting is critical for operational success
Proof of concept to design and build Fully automated additive manufacturing CNC machine capable of 3D printing near net shaped parts via Directed Energy Deposition (DED) process in the inert atmosphere with the most advanced DED Nozzle and feedback systems.
Controls development for simultaneous 5-Axis CNC additive manufacturing machine to achieve complex near net shape parts with reduced cycle time while maintaining consistent quality throughout the process. Overcome Directed Energy Deposition challenges with simultaneous 5-Axis Additive Manufacturing through iterative additive software, machine post, and CNC control development.
Whitfield Welding and it's group of associated companies (Lincoln Laser Solutions and Lincoln Conveyors) have built an ERP system in partnership with Mobistream Solutions (as Canadian owned software developer). The software is nearing completion, however there is around 3-4 months of rollout activities required - this project will help offset these costs.
Employing a welding engineer to audit and improve our welding processes across all divisions of our company.
The employee will be working on design aspects of engineering projects as directed by the company. This includes but is not limited to: Design and development of new machines, customers specific inquires, and any other mechanical engineering components.
We have hired a St. Clair College graduate to start working as a Laser Technologist. The graduate will take roughly 6 months to train on the following: laser operation, robot programming, offline CAM programming, fixturing, design, safety.
